This was our first day of work at PEFO. Shannon was all smiles. She said she loved this place and loved being back. There have been changes at PEFO and there seems to be staff excitement about the changes that have occurred and are planned. It is good to interact with positive staff with good attitudes.

We arrived on Monday and took Tuesday to settle in and get caught up. Caught up means do laundry and wash bugs off the rig. Today we spent time split between working at Painted Desert Inn (one of our favorite places here at PEFO) and the main visitor center on the north end. We got reacquainted with folks that we had worked with the last time we were here, and they seemed to be genuinely glad that we are back.

There is one other RV volunteer couple from Colorado who has been here for two weeks and will be here through May. This is their first experience at volunteering. In April we understand there will be another RV volunteer couple coming. When that occurs, the volunteers will be working 3-day weeks instead of 4-day weeks. It just keeps getting better.
