Another
rainy day. Last night it rained hard and a lot. People still came in and set up
in the dark and rain. We were watching a movie on Dish in our nice warm, dry
motor home. Oh well, some of us have to sacrifice.
The
campground tonight is nearly full. Not too many campfires are lit due to the
on-again, off-again and mostly on-again rain. The campfires that are burning are
producing much more smoke than fire.
Shannon
is at the campground program. Every weekend, the park puts on programs Friday
and Saturday nights and Saturday mornings. Campfire stories in which
participants were to bring their chairs, bug spray and stories scheduled for last
night got rained out. We thought maybe the program tonight would, but Shannon
hasn’t come back yet. It is called “Music of the Mountains” by the Black Canyon
Barbershop Chorus. They also had performed over the Memorial Day weekend. This
is the swan song of weekend programs; so the chorus nicely bookended the
summer.
I’m
on duty to sell firewood and ice and do whatever a campground host is called upon
to do. Oh, I have to control our dogs. They sit up on the dashboard and get
excited by anyone, two-legged or four-legged, walking by. Especially Tuzi. She provides
loads of entertainment for people walking by the motor home. There are an
incredible amount of dogs in the campground this weekend; Tuzi is in doggie
heaven just itching for a chance to take them all on. On the flip side of the
doggie coin, Lilly is very friendly, goes up to everyone, craves
people-attention, and would just as well go with them rather than back home
with us. Tuzi is shy around people but wants to take on all other dogs. We have
our hands full with NMI and RNMI.
