We
arrived at our destination on top of the hill west of Albuquerque and from here
are able to see the Sandia Mountains across the valley of the Rio Grande River
and the sprawl of Albuquerque. We will be here until Monday, September 14 at
which time we will head to our next volunteer gig.
The
trip from the Ute Mountain Ute place was uneventful. The route does take us
through Shiprock, NM and along the edge of Monument Valley; so, the scenery is
pleasant. We did have a delightful lunch with Barb, a classmate of mine growing
up together in Lititz, PA seemingly in a galaxy far, far away. She is a retired Indian
Health Service nurse living in Gallup, and we try to visit with her when we are
going through.
Our
campground in Albuquerque is across Interstate 40 from Camping World, and we
have an appointment there on Friday morning. Stopping at Camping
Worlds is almost mandatory for RVers, and few of us rarely can drive by one
without making an appointment for some kind of servicing.
We
also have an appointment with an internal medicine vet for Tuzi’s liver
situation. That occurs tomorrow, and our consultation will provide a second
opinion as to what is going on with her. Of course she shows no symptoms of
anything except jealousy for Lilly and great angst for any dogs walking by our
motor home.
Our
time in Albuquerque will go by fast. With vet and RV appointments, time spent
in Old Town, visiting with some fun nieces of Earl’s, and trying to make up for
a lack of green chilies in our diet, time will go fast.
